This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” ~John 15:12
Out of the many lessons that Jesus shared throughout his ministry, the simplest commandment often proves to be the most difficult to abide: to love one another as the Lord loves us. However, love can manifest in different forms, and one of the most prominent is the act of charity.
The Society of St. Vincent De Paul is one of the parish’s largest and most active ministries. Their activities pay tribute to the concept of charity, which is the core by which our church’s patron saint lived his life.
Working closely with our Friends-in-Need (FINS), the Society organises various activities for those who are less fortunate. Visits to old folks homes, migrant worker dormitories and outreach events for rental blocks — they’re some of the many ways that the volunteers share the love of Christ with others.
